The Oscar GNSS receiver provides a highly accurate and stable signal with internal high-performance multi-frequency GNSS receiver electronics. Oscar Ultimate is a new-generation tilt-compensated GNSS receiver with a high-precision inertial measurement unit (IMU) with an accuracy of < 2 cm at up to 60 degree stick tilt angle (worth comparing with other brands). Such a practically calibration-free tilt compensation is immune to magnetic disturbances. There are three versions of Oscar GNSS receivers: Basic, Advanced and Ultimate. All Oscar receivers have 576 channels and use all major satellite positioning systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou). T
Oscar receivers can be used both as RTK measurement receivers (rover) and as base stations (base). In base station use, correction data can be sent directly to the receivers with the internal UHF radio modem or with the 4G modem to Tersus' servers, free of charge. When operating through a server, one base station can serve ten (10) receivers, i.e. rovers. Naturally, Oscar devices also work with commercial RTK correction networks with standard RTCM data.
The built-in high-performance antenna reduces the time to first RTK fix (TTFF) and improves anti-jamming. With a Nano-SIM card equipped with Oscar, you can access the Internet and send and receive repair information via a 4G or WiFi network. The built-in UHF radio module (410-470MHz) is also available to receive or transmit repair information. The high-capacity battery is removable and shows the battery charge itself on the LED screen. Together, two batteries allow up to 16 hours of field work in 4G / 3G / 2G and Rover radio mode. Oscar can also be easily configured on the device's own 1.54-inch interactive screen (Ultimate and Advanced versions). The operating temperature range of Oscar devices is the widest on the market, from - 40C to +70C. Dust and moisture protection is the best on the market, IP68. The device has passed the MIL-STD-810G vibration test and can withstand a drop from a height of 2 meters onto concrete.
The Oscar receiver can be used for measurements with Tersus' own Android-based smartphone (TC20 or TC50) or any modern Android phone. The program can be either Tersus' own Nuwa program (free) or another Android-based program, such as Aplitop TcpGPS or Microsurvey Field Genius. The Tersus TC20 controller is a rugged smartphone with a 4.3-inch touch screen and an alphanumeric keyboard. The TC50 has a 5-inch touchscreen, a more powerful processor and more memory. Both devices are fully compatible with Tersus NUWA software. Thanks to the professional IP68 rating, they are durable and reliable in harsh operating conditions. The NUWA software has Finnish coordinate and height systems. It is also easy for customers to back up from the Tersus Caster Server (TCS), so the GNSS base station can be quickly configured to send correction data via mobile network instead of radio. Supported by FieldGenius and Nuwa, Oscar can be configured in different workspaces to suit different daily tasks. Supported by the fast technical support of Tersus' global partner network, the Oscar GNSS receiver is a skilled and reliable partner.
Tersus is a company founded in 2014 with offices in the USA, China and Australia. It is one of only six GNSS receiver manufacturing companies in the world that design the satellite receiver circuits themselves.
Maintenance: Tersus devices go to the factory for maintenance if necessary. Dimense Oy has a spare GNSS device that you can get as a replacement device during maintenance if your GNSS device needs to be serviced (very rare).
