Using Emlid M2, an RTK-GNSS base station can be built, which can be used, for example, in farming or on construction sites as a base station for machine receivers. The base station package includes the Emlid M2 RTK GNSS receiver and the Singular XYZ SA100 antenna with a 5 m cable and also the necessary TNC-MCX connector adapter, which can be used to fit the antenna cable to the antenna input of the M2. The antenna has a standard 5/8" thread on the bottom. The cable can be extended longer, if necessary. The Emlid M2 must be placed in a warm indoor space, because it does not have the protective case required for outdoor use. The antenna should be placed in the most optimal place, e.g. on the roof of the house, so that other buildings around or the trees do not rise above an angle of 30 degrees from the horizon as seen from the antenna. M2 can send a correction signal directly to other Emlid devices via a Lora radio (accessory) or e.g. via a Wifi network to an Emlid server located on the internet, which is free to use and is in use continuously, 24/7. Emlid's service is described at https://emlid.com/ntrip-caster/. Another possibility is to use e.g. the (free) rtk2go.com service. The data is according to the RTCM3 standard, so the receiving device does not have to be Emlid branded.
