Structural Health Monitoring

Structural health monitoring systems (SHM) are designed individually and realized using a variety of strain, displacement, deflection, and temperature sensors.

The loading state of a structure, such as a bridge, can be monitored in real time using a structure specific website, also with a camera image. The measurement results are securately saved to several sites. The monitoring systems are used e.g. in bridges, which are close to the end of their life span, as well as for examining new or problematic structural systems in the long-term.

Dimense Ltd. has delivered a monitoring system e.g. to the new Ahvenkoski highway bridge close to Loviisa and Kulosaari metro bridge in Helsinki. Several roof structures, such as Ouluhalli, is also covered by our continuous SHM system.
